Welcome to the list of best beaches of Town of 1770 & Agnes Waters
1 – Honeymoon Beach
Starting our light of the best beaches of town of 1770 & Agnes Waters is this local gem, Honeymoon Beach!
When I was a kid this beach had people on it most days. Now you can go and there won’t even be a footprint in the sand. It’s an amazing spot and I hope more people enjoy it in the future!!
Park at the Clam Cove Lookout carpark and look for a path behind the house on the left. It’s a short 10-minute walk over moderate terrain with a small climb down the rocks. This one surely doesn’t disappoint!
2 – 1770 Main Beach
You can miss this. You literally drive past it. Dog-friendly and calm water is perfect for swimming or fishing!
3 – Workmans Beach
This DOG-FRIENDLY beach is on the way out of town from Agnes Waters. Follow Springs Rd and it will be your first turnoff. It has a short dirt road access, showers, BBQs and a grassed park with a 200-metre patch to the beach. There also used to be a campground here many years ago but has long since shut down.
4 – Springs Beach
Springs is known as the local surf spot away from the main beach. It’s a bit of a trek to get to with a kilometre-long 4WD access road and a 500 metre walk. However, a decent southerly swell will line waves up off the point.
Take Springs Rd out of Agnes for about 3 km’s before turning left onto the 4wd track. The turn off is also the location of the PAPERBARK WALK, another local gem.
5 – Agnes Waters Main Beach
Ahh yes, the mythical Agnes Main Beach. No list of the best beaches of Town of 1770 & Agnes waters would be complete without it.
Agnes Waters main beach holds its iconic status as the last surf beach north in Queensland. From Agnes onwards, the reef cuts off the swell, making Agnes somewhat of a legend in the area.
Disabled access, dog friendly on the north side, showers, shops and parking make this one a tourists favourite!
6 – Flat Rock
Getting a little more off the track now in the list of best beaches of town of 1770 & Agnes Waters is flat rock. 15 minutes from Agnes and a 10-minute 4wd journey into Deepwater National Park is Flat Rock. Flat Rock is well known for turtle sightings and prime fishing.
At low tide the rock become visible and you can even walk out to it. At high tide it creates a small lagoon in front of it.
Flat rock is only accessible by 4wd.
7 – Eurimbula Beach
Fancy a 4WDing day trip? Eurimbula is your spot. Only 5 kilometres from 1770, however, a 45-minute drive away is the secluded Eurimbula campground and beach. There is space available for day parking as well as 12 campsites with toilets
Eurimbula is very well known for fishing for Barramundi and Mangrove jack from the estuary or Flathead, Whiting and Taylor form the ocean. Be
Eurimbula is only accessible by 4WD.
8 – Wreck Rock
Gaining its name from a freight barge that sunk here decades ago, Wreck Rock now boasts a campground with toilets, a pristine beach known for turtle sightings and very few people.
Located 40 minutes from Agnes Waters in Deepwater National Park, or 10 minutes from Baffle Creek township, this spot is only accessible by 4WD.
9 – Middle Rock
Finishing off this list of best beaches of Town of 1770 & Agnes Waters is Middle Rock. Middle Rock lies in between Flat Rock and Reck Rock (hence middle).
There is a campground with toilets and easy to access pristine beach known for turtle and whale sightings. Located 45 minutes from 1770, 35 minutes from Agnes Waters and 15 minutes from Baffle Creek, Middle Rock is only accessible by 4WD.
