My Experience on the Ganoonga Lookout Track

I’ve been visiting Eurimbula National Park for decades, however, not once have I stepped foot on the lookout track. It’s very easy to be lazy and drive right on by, but the vista offered here from such a short walk is worth the stop.

I visited the lookout in the easter holidays and we had the entire place to ourselves! Parking is easy with space for 5 or 6 cars and a picnic table. The walking track leaves directly from the car park and you can’t miss it!

The track to the lookout has a total incline of 60 metres, making it not too taxing to walk on small steps. Being summer rain season, the track was pretty well overgrown at the time we went so we were cautious of snakes. It is however it is managed regularly by the QLD parks.

After the short 5-10 minute walk we arrived at the main lookout, being a big rock, offering views over the entire wetland Eurimbula area, all the way to Seventeen seventy. I’ve been to this area many times in my life but have never seen it from this angle so I loved it!

A short 5 minutes back we were in the car again to continue our journey!
